My Disney Experience, MagicBands, Disney Genie, and Lightning Lane Information
What is My Disney Experience?
My Disney Experience is the main planning tool for your Walt Disney World vacation. This is where you can book Advance Dining Reservations, make theme park reservations, use Mobile Order, find theme park hours, check attraction wait times, use online check-in, and more.
When planning a Walt Disney World vacation, you can use My Disney Experience on your computer, tablet, and smartphone. You can share vacation plans with friends and family members who are connected to you in My Disney Experience.
You can also customize your MagicBands using the My Disney Experience app. A MagicBand is a wearable device that can work as your Resort hotel key, park ticket, and payment method. MagicBand+ is sold throughout the theme parks, resort shops, and online at the Disney Store.
For phone or tablet use, download the free app. On a computer, you can get started at www.startyourdisneyexperience.com.
You will need an online account to use My Disney Experience. Use an email address you check often, especially if you have an upcoming Disney vacation planned.

MagicBands
MagicBands can be a fun way to interact with the My Disney Experience app, but they are not required. A MagicBand is a wristband with an embedded RFID chip that links to theme park tickets, Resort room keys, dining reservations, PhotoPass photos, payment options, and more.
MagicBand+ is the current version available for sale at Walt Disney World. It lights up, vibrates, and interacts based on where a guest is in the theme parks. Guests using MagicBand+ can also play bounty hunter in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, interact with select nighttime spectaculars, and use other interactive features.
Disney Resort hotel guests and new or renewing Walt Disney World Annual Passholders can purchase MagicBands at a discounted pre-arrival price. Disney MagicMobile is also available and extends many MagicBand features to smart devices.
Disney Genie
Disney Genie is the free park day optimizer inside the My Disney Experience app. Guests can enter must-do attractions, dining experiences, entertainment, and other preferences. Disney Genie then suggests an itinerary based on those interests, current wait times, and location.
Disney Genie also includes a tip board, forecasted wait times, a virtual assistant, Mobile Order access, dining availability, walk-up waitlists, and Virtual Queue access where available.
Lightning Lane Premier Pass
Lightning Lane Premier Pass is offered in limited quantities and gives guests one-time entry to each available Lightning Lane entrance in the theme park they are visiting that day. It includes attractions from Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Single Pass. Guests do not need to select an experience time with Lightning Lane Premier Pass.
At Disneyland Resort, Lightning Lane Premier Pass is available first come, first served beginning two days before a theme park reservation and is valid for use in both theme parks.
At Walt Disney World, Lightning Lane Premier Pass is available to all guests and may be purchased up to seven days in advance of their stay. It is valid for one park of the guest’s choice per day.
Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Single Pass
Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Lightning Lane Single Pass are the current names for the previous Genie+ and individual Lightning Lane services. The system adds advance planning and more flexibility.
Standby lines or Virtual Queues are still offered at each attraction. Guests who do not purchase Lightning Lane still have access to attractions.
Advance Planning: Resort guests can make Lightning Lane selections up to 7 days in advance. Non-resort guests can plan 3 days ahead. The day starts at 7am Eastern.
Lightning Lane Multi Pass: Guests can choose up to 3 Lightning Lane selections in a theme park before their visit. After a Lightning Lane has been used on the day of the visit, guests can check the My Disney Experience app for more availability.
Lightning Lane Single Pass: Guests can select an available time for one of Disney’s more popular attractions and purchase it in advance.
