What is a Disney World Package?
Simply put, a Disney package is a booking that includes, at minimum, a room reservation and theme park admission. You can add other components like dining and recreation, but Disney has rules about adding those items. In its most basic form, a package is a resort room and theme park admission.

How do I book a Disney World Package?
Start by contacting your travel agent or Walt Disney World. Of course, we would love you to use Dreams Unlimited Travel, the official sponsor of the DIS.
You will need some basic information when you start looking at pricing:
- Date you would like to check in
- Date you would like to check out
- Number of adults in your party
- Number of children in your party
- Preferred resort
- Number of rooms, view type, or room type
- Type of theme park tickets you would like
- Type of package you would like
- Legal names of all guests traveling, if required by your travel agent
From there, your travel agent or Disney can quote a price for what you are looking for. Your travel agent, or Disney, can then place a courtesy hold for you. It is in your best interest to place that courtesy hold if you find something you like. Availability can change, and what you found today may not be available tomorrow.
The length of the courtesy hold depends on when you want to arrive. If you are within 14 days of arrival, Disney will not allow a courtesy hold. If you are within 15 to 45 days of arrival, Disney will hold your request for 24 hours. If you are 46 or more days outside of arrival, you can hold the reservation for 3 days.
Once you decide to book, Disney requires a deposit. If you are within 45 days of arrival, Disney requires the entire balance to be paid in full. If you are 46 or more days from arrival, Disney requires $200 per room to book. The remaining balance is due 45 days before arrival.
Once your reservation is paid in full, and as long as you are at least eleven days from arrival, your documentation will be sent by mail or email before your arrival. Your travel agent can let you know if you need to pick up documentation when you arrive or if it will be mailed to you.
On your arrival date, show the cast member your photo ID at your resort. The cast member will review your package and code what you need to your MagicBand or account.
After I book my Disney package, can I change it or cancel?
You can change or cancel your package reservation. Changes to a reservation, including travel dates, length of stay, party size, or hotel accommodations, are subject to availability and the prices available at the time the change is requested. Guests are responsible for paying any increase in price.
Changes made 30 days or less before arrival may be subject to a change fee of $50 per package, plus any change fees assessed by third-party hotels or suppliers. If the overall package total increases, Disney has been known to waive applicable change fees, though this is not guaranteed.
If you need to change dates, resorts, or room types, those changes are subject to availability. In some cases, you may need to book a new package and cancel the original one.
Cancellation and Refunds for 2026 Packages
- For cancellations made 30 days or more before guest arrival, amounts paid, minus applicable fees and non-refundable items, will be refunded.
- For cancellations made 2 to 29 days before guest arrival, amounts paid, minus a $200 cancellation fee per package and other applicable fees, will be refunded.
- For cancellations made 1 day or less before guest arrival, or for no-shows, the full price of the package is non-refundable.
- No refunds are given for cancellation of personalized products or experiences.
- No refunds are made for early departure or for unused or partially used admission tickets, options, features, or meals.
- Refunds allowed after arrival must be requested in writing within 90 days after departure and may be assessed a $25 processing fee.
- Disney reserves the right to make refunds according to the original payment method. Refunds will be made through the guest’s travel agent if payment was made by the travel agent.
Which package should I book?
This is the million dollar question, and there is not one easy answer. In most cases, if you need a room and tickets, you will want to book a Walt Disney World vacation package. The main exceptions are Annual Passholders and active duty or retired military guests.
When a discount is offered on room-only reservations, you can add theme park tickets and a dining plan to complete your package.
Disney World Base Vacation Package
A standard Walt Disney World vacation package includes several items. Some extras are included with the package, but they should not be viewed as major cash-value items when comparing prices.

- Theme park admission, customized as needed
- Voucher for 4 general admission tickets to ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex
- Voucher for 4 rounds of miniature golf
- 10% discount on bowling, food, and merchandise at Splitsville Luxury Lanes
- 10% discount on a 2-person or 4-person Surrey bike rental at Disney's BoardWalk
- 10% to 20% discount at select Disney Springs restaurants and shops
How do Disney package discounts work?
If Disney releases a discount after you have paid your deposit, you can ask to have it applied. Discounts are always subject to availability. Disney keeps separate room inventories for full-price rooms and discounted rooms. A resort may be available at full price while the discounted inventory is no longer available.
When Disney releases a discount, it sets aside a certain number of rooms for that offer. Once that discounted inventory is sold, it is usually gone. Disney can add more inventory later, and cancellations can also open space.
Disney does not automatically apply discounts to existing reservations. You must watch for a discount and request it. If you book with Dreams Unlimited Travel, your agent will watch your reservation and apply qualifying discounts when available.
