ARTICLE: Bringing Your Dog to the Most Magical Place on Earth

Best Friends Pet Care at Walt Disney World offers a luxury, full-service pet resort with a wide range of activities, amenities and extras. Located across from Disney’s Port Orleans Riverside Resort, this 50,000-square foot complex includes accommodations for up to 300 dogs, cats and pocket pets. It also includes a full-service grooming salon and two 1,100-square foot doggy day camp rooms.

Location/Hours:

2510 Bonnet Creek Parkway, Lake Buena Vista, FL 32830 across from the Port Orleans resort.

Open: Monday - Sunday

Open one hour before parks open and close one hour after parks close.

Check out time is 12:00 noon. A daycare charge will apply to boarding pets who leave after check out time.

Vaccine Requirements

Dogs must be up to date on Rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella.
Cats must be up to date on Rabies and FVRCP.

Written proof of vaccines from vet must be provided.

Services

Daycare
Pet Daycare rates are available for under 6 hours or over 6 hours.

** To participate in any playgroups for our VIP Luxury Suites, your pet must be at least 5 months old, spayed or neutered, and current on all vaccinations listed above.

Grooming:

This state-of the art salon provides treatments by experienced stylists. Your pets can enjoy shampoos, hair cuts and flea treatments while boarding or just by appointment. Want your pet to experience something a little extra? Exotic styling, pedicures, skin care and moisturizing treatments are also available!

Day Camp:

Dogs can burn energy and play with other friendly dogs in day camp. The camp is located within one of two 1,100 square foot rooms, each with an attached yard. All dogs are expected to pass a complimentary “interview” to make sure they are suitable for the dog camp.

Vaccinations and regular fecal checks are required for all dog campers.

Dog Park:

Directly outside of the main lobby is a fenced in 25,000 square foot dog park. Guests can walk, play, and cool off in the dog only water fountain. Additionally, there is a gated trail for on leash walking. Only dogs that are registered with Best Friends Pet Care can take advantage of the park.

Dog-Friendly Walt Disney World Resort Hotels

As part of an ongoing pilot program, rooms at select Disney Resort hotels are now dog-friendly. Dogs must be leashed in public areas, vaccinated, and well behaved. There is an additional cost per night to use this service.

Dogs will be greeted with "Pluto’s Welcome Kit" which will include a mat, bowl, a pet ID tag, courtesy plastic disposable bags, puppy pads, and a dog walking map. Additionally, rooms with a dog staying in them will receive a Pluto-themed door hanger to notify hotel staff that there is a dog in the room.
