Disney's Polynesian Villas & Bungalows Overview

Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows include the Bora Bora Bungalows and the Deluxe Studios.

The villas are part of the Disney Vacation Club or DVC (as it is known). Disney Vacation Club is Disney’s version of a timeshare. Instead of purchasing a particular ‘week’ (as is customary with many timeshares), you purchase points. Points can than be used at any of Disney’s vacation club properties. The number of points needed for a particular stay depends on the type of room (studio, one bedroom, two bedroom, etc), and the time of year. There are a few things that make this particular DVC property special. First, are the Deluxe Studios - at 460 sq. ft. they are the largest studios that DVC has built. There are 360 Deluxe Studios that sleep five and can connect to a neighboring room. Each has a split bathroom, one with a shower and sink and one with a sink and tub/shower. There is also kitchenettes in the units and a pull-down armoire bed that features Lilo and Stitch artwork. The studios are located in the Rapa Nui, Tokelau, and Tahiti longhouses.

Another unique feature of this expansion are the Bora Bora Bungalows. The name is derived from the popular (and expensive) over-water bungalows that can be found on the south pacific island of Bora Bora. There are 20 of the 1650 sq. ft. bungalows, each with two full bathrooms, a kitchen, in-unit laundry facilities, a living room and dining room. Reminiscent of the South Pacific, the area is surrounded by the Seven Seas Lagoon and will have a view of the Magic Kingdom’s fireworks. Private decks with personal plunge pools allow guests to watch the fireworks while listening to the accompanying music piped in on individual sound systems. The Electric Water Pageant can also be viewed from the bungalows.

New DVC Tower at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort

Disney Vacation Club has announced that a new DVC tower is coming to Disney’s Polynesian Villas and Bungalows. The new tower is being designed to complement the existing resort. Inspired by the early concepts for Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, the Imagineers of today are honoring the past while furthering the resort story with this innovative addition. Projected to open in December 2024, the proposed vacation ownership property would complement the existing resort and evoke the spirit of the Pacific Islands.

Situated on the shores of Seven Seas Lagoon, the proposed property would join the rest of the resort in offering stunning views of the Magic Kingdom. Proposed plans would offer additional rooms, new recreation offerings and dining options.

All of the DVC units are available for rent when not reserved by Disney Vacation Club Members.

If you’re not interested in spending tens of thousands of dollars on a timeshare, but would still like to experience a DVC studio or bungalow there are a few options:

  • You can reserve these rooms through Disney (or a travel agent) much the same way you would book a hotel room. This is the most expensive option, and currently you can expect the deluxe studios to go for upwards of $500 per night, and the bungalows for more than $2500 per night.
  • Dreams Unlimited Travel – the official sponsor of the DIS – offers confirmed DVC Resort reservations in partnership with DVC Rental Store. These reservations have already been secured by a DVC member and offer an incredible savings off of regular pricing in addition to the special perks and value of a DVC booking. Certain restrictions apply.
  • On our discussion forums, DISboards.com, you’ll find the DVC Rent/Trade forum. Current DVC owners who want to rent their points post what they have available, and you can arrange to rent those points directly from them. They will make the reservation with DVC on your behalf and provide you a confirmation number once they receive payment. This is almost always less expensive than going directly through Disney. Please be sure to THOROUGHLY READ the FAQ before using the Rent/Trade forum.
  • You can also go through DVC Resale Market. DVC Resale Market will handle all the work coordinating owners and renters and guarantees the transactions. This is a slightly more expensive option than our Rent/Trade board, but you have someone handling all the transaction details for you.
