Walt Disney World Recreation Activities

Walt Disney World is more than a theme park destination. It is a resort with recreation options for many vacation styles. Guests can swim, golf, fish, book a specialty cruise, ride horses, visit a spa, jog on resort trails, and enjoy outdoor activities across the property.

Specialty fireworks cruises offer premium viewing for EPCOT or Magic Kingdom fireworks.

Full-service spa options are available throughout Walt Disney World property.

Fishing excursions are offered from locations such as Disney’s Fort Wilderness Marina, Disney’s Port Orleans Resort, Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts, Disney’s BoardWalk, and Disney Springs Marketplace.

Options may include carriage rides, hayrides, horseback riding, Halloween haunted carriage rides, and holiday sleigh rides.

ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex hosts athletic events, tournaments, and sports experiences throughout the year.

Many Disney Resort hotels have fitness centers. Guests staying at those resorts can use the facility without an added fee.

Many resorts have trails for jogging, biking, and walking. Review the maps of specific Disney Resorts to see where trails are located.

Walt Disney World Resort has championship golf courses, a par-36 practice course, and FootGolf at Disney’s Oak Trail Golf Course.

Take aim at the bullseye during this Fort Wilderness activity. After instruction in the use of a compound bow, guests practice on the target range. The Archery Experience can be booked by calling (407) WDW-PLAY. Check in at the Fort Wilderness Bike Barn upon arrival.

Surfing lessons are provided by Craig Carroll’s Cocoa Beach Surfing School. Class sizes are limited to 14 guests ages 8 and older.

Clinics and private instruction at Walt Disney World Resort can be reserved by calling (321) 228-1146. Lessons are provided by Orlando Tennis Services, LLC, and are available at Animal Kingdom Lodge, Bay Lake Tower, Saratoga Springs, and the Yacht and Beach Clubs. Equipment is provided.
