Boulder Ridge Villas at Wilderness Lodge Overview

In November of 2000, Disney added the Villas at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge to the Resort's offering. The name was changed to Boulder Ridge Villas at Disney's Wilderness Lodge in 2016.

The villas are part of the Disney Vacation Club or DVC (as it is known). Disney Vacation Club is, essentially, Disney’s version of a timeshare. Instead of purchasing a particular ‘week’ (as is customary with many timeshares), you purchase points. Points can then be used at any of the Disney Vacation Club properties. The number of vacation points needed for a particular stay depends on the type of room (studio, one bedroom, two bedroom, etc.) and the time of year.

The villas side of the resort comes with its own separate common area that exudes a rustic charm that invites you to sit, relax and read a good book. The three story high central rotunda provides comfortable seating and a cozy fireplace while continuing the theming of the resort's main lobby. Animals carved into log-like “bearing beams” overhead and a large, decorative birdcage help complete the look.

A particularly inviting area of the villas lies in a room adjacent to the rotunda, the Carolwood Pacific Room. This room holds a bit of Disney history as it showcases a few collector pieces related to Walt Disney’s penchant for steam trains. On select days, small presentations are given in the Carolwood Pacific Room by a knowledgeable cast member who will share some of the stories pertaining to the items. Also, in this area more seating and a few tables can be found as well as a couple of checkers game sets for a bit of quiet enjoyment.

Boulder Ridge Villa Rooms

Rustic charm is what appeals to guests who stay at the Lodge. The décor of each room is composed of wood-carved furniture, earth tones and accents of woodland creatures. Bambi references are sprinkled throughout the villa. Hardwood floors set the scene in the common areas with carpet in the bedrooms. Glass-paned doors lead to a patio or balcony in each room.

Artist Point is located just off the lobby and features Storybook Dining at dinner where guests are invited to wander into an Enchanted Forest-like setting that was inspired by Walt Disney’s Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Guests will enjoy visits from Snow White, Dopey, and Grumpy while they dine. Music and activities in the dining room will assist in bringing the timeless fairytale to life. Guests will also have the opportunity to have an “encounter with The Queen.”

Dinner is a prix fixe menu, including shared starters, a choice of individual plated entrees, and ‘sweet spells’ to top off the meal.

Artist Point

Whispering Canyon Café: Offering more than just skillets and sandwiches, the wait staff serves up crazy antics and good old-fashioned fun to each table. Expect a meal engulfed in a boisterous setting and be ready for a few pranks as well. Open for breakfast 7:30am-11:30am (platters, omelets, waffles and pancakes); Open for lunch 11:45am-2:30pm (platters, salads, sandwiches, chicken and burgers); Open for dinner 5pm-10pm (platters, a la carte menu options)

TIP: If you want to set the stage for a good laugh, ask your server for some ketchup.

Pools and Recreation

The Silver Creek Springs Pool appears to be “spring fed” from the hot spring originating in the lobby. The pool itself is encompassed in a small forest of trees and rocks. The water-slide cascades down a rock formation, emptying out into the deeper end of the pool. There is also a hot tub and cold spa in addition to a kids' interactive water play area. The Boulder Ridge Cove Pool is located at the Boulder Ridge Villas at Disney's Wilderness Lodge. Pool towels are available at this location.

A number of poolside activities are scheduled each afternoon. Ranging from chalk art to bingo, there is a broad spectrum of games and challenges for families to participate in while they enjoy the water area.

This will be held in the Carolwood Pacific Room at The Villas at Disney's Wilderness Lodge during construction.

Guided Fishing Excursions: For a fee, an expert guide will host your group during a catch-and-release fishing trip in some of the lakes on Disney property. Available times are 7am, 10am, and 1:30pm. Teton Boat & Bike Rentals: Guests can rent Sea Raycers, Boston Whaler Montauks, and SunTracker pontoon boats at the resort marina. For more information and pricing click HERE. Single rider bicycles and Surrey bikes are also available at Disney's Wilderness Lodge Resort.

Wonders of the Lodge Art and Architecture Tour: An hour-long tour highlights the architecture and theme of the lodge as well as educates about the art, artifacts and classic craftsmanship that are featured throughout the lobby.
